SEN Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs Provision (Primary School, Dagenham)
Pay: 96-115 per day
We are seeking a confident, resilient, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs within a small provision in a mainstream primary school in Dagenham. The children are awaiting specialist placements and present with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, cognitive delays, and limited communication skills.
This is a highly rewarding role where you will work as part of a supportive team to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for pupils who require a high level of consistency and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with autism, ADHD, and cognitive delays
Assist children with limited communication using supportive strategies
Work collaboratively with the staff team to maintain a positive and structured setting
Support with personal care, including toileting and feeding, when required
Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
Help create a nurturing environment that supports the needs and development of each child
Requirements:
Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or complex learning needs
Comfortable with personal care and high-needs support
Confident, calm, and able to work collaboratively as part of a close team
Strong understanding of communication and sensory needs
A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach
