Exciting Opportunity: Site Engineer / Sub Agent
Location: Projects based in Ayrshire, with travel throughout Scotland as required

On behalf of our client, a well-established and highly regarded Civil Engineering Contractor specialising in renewables, infrastructure, and flood protection, we are seeking an experienced Site Engineer or Sub Agent to join their team on a permanent basis. While initial assignments are located in Ayrshire, flexibility to travel across Scotland is essential.

Role Overview

As Site Engineer / Sub Agent, you will assist the Site Agent in the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering projects. A solid foundation in civil engineering is essential, with particular experience in renewables, wind farms, roads, and highways considered highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Site Agent, your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting out and surveying

  • Conducting preliminary site surveys and investigations

  • Supporting the implementation of project strategies

  • Reviewing and verifying drawings, design plans, and quantities

  • Assisting in day-to-day management of site works

  • Supporting contract re-measurement and valuation

  • Assisting in tendering, including site surveys, earthworks calculations, and value engineering

  • Ensuring quality control and site health & safety compliance

  • Preparing method statements and risk assessments

  • Providing general site engineering support as required

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • Minimum HNC in Civil Engineering

  • Experience within a civil engineering contracting environment

  • Background in roads, highways, renewables, or wind farm projects (preferred)

  • Proven experience in setting out and surveying (essential)

  • Working knowledge of CAD (desirable)

  • Valid CSCS card and 3-Day First Aid qualification (advantageous)

  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Willingness to work across various sites in Scotland
