OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation. This position involves managing accounts payable, assisting with data entry, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. The successful applicant will have experience with various accounting software and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- VAT Returns: Prepare and Submit VAT returns for client s in compliance with HMRC requirements. Ensure accurate recording and categorisation of VAT Transactions
- Bookkeeping Tasks: Carry out regular bank reconciliations for clients, update and maintain client ledgers, ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.
- Client Interactions: Communicate effectively with clients, providing support and guidance on accounting related queries. Assist with the preparation of year end accounts for clients. Build strong relationships with clients, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Office Administration: Provide general office support including filing, documentation management and correspondence. Maintain and update client files and records in digital formats. Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns.
Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant role or similar position is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with financial services and accounts payable processes is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to liaise effectively with team members and stakeholders.
