Sous Chef – £37.5k+ package

We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to support our client's Head Chef and their kitchen team located in a 5 star luxury resort in the North of England. The ideal candidate will bring a background in Rosette kitchens or above and have a genuine passion for the finer culinary elements of food in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen.

The Role:

  • Lead and manage a team of chefs to ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest quality standards, while maintaining a safe, hygienic, and efficient working environment within assigned sections.

  • Support the achievement of kitchen gross profit targets through effective stock control, portion management, accurate product costing, and minimization of waste.

  • Communicate daily with approved suppliers to secure high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.

  • Oversee the quality and consistency of goods received, ensuring stock rotation practices are followed and all procedures are adhered to.

  • Create and manage departmental rotas, aligning staffing levels with business demands.

  • Develop and introduce new menu concepts, including detailed recipes and descriptions.

  • Conduct cook-offs, deliver training sessions, and provide detailed specification sheets for new menu items to both Kitchen and Front of House teams.

The Person:

  • Experience working in Rosette kitchens or above (required).
  • Strong all-around cooking skills; evidence of leadership, preferably at Sous level.
  • Ability to lead any given section and supervise junior staff at all times.
  • Positive, professional attitude and strong team player ethic.
  • No live-in accommodation is available for this role or sponsorship.
