Jackson Hogg are partnering with a well manufacturer based in Darlington, to recruit a Finance Manager.

This is a hands-on role with full ownership of the site’s finance function. Reporting directly into Group, you will act as the No.1 in finance on site, leading reporting, controls and budgets, while partnering closely with the Site General Manager to drive performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys being close to the numbers and making a tangible impact day to day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of monthly reporting: P&L, balance sheet, journals, cashflows and reconciliations to strict deadlines
  • Main finance contact for senior site staff, providing guidance and insight
  • Annual budget preparation and ad-hoc forecasting for the Darlington site
  • Hands-on management of AP/AR, petty cash, payroll journals and daily sales reporting
  • Close working with the Group Purchasing Manager and site leadership on procurement and performance improvement
  • Year-end audit preparation, government returns and statutory submissions
  • Support and oversight of WIP, stock control and ERP processes
  • Attend site and Group finance meetings, providing insight to drive performance

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ experience
  • Proven experience, ideally within manufacturing or related industries
  • Experience managing and developing a small finance team
  • Strong organisational skills, excellent IT ability and hands-on mindset
  • Comfortable working as the go-to finance lead at site level, while liaising with Group
