Are you a skilled Machine Operator looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced production environment? We are looking for a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team and play a key role in maintaining efficiency, safety, and quality in our packhouse operations.

What does the job involve?

This is a key role in the department reporting to the Packhouse Supervisor. You will ensure the production machines are kept in clean, efficient, audit ready condition.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate and maintain machinery to ensure smooth production.
  • Monitor product quality, ensuring all finished goods meet specifications.
  • Oversee machine room cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and staff hygiene.
  • Manage production schedules, crop rotation, and packaging processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
  • Complete production records accurately, including cleaning, maintenance, and traceability reports.
  • Lead and support staff in the machine packing area, ensuring efficiency and safety.
  • Work closely with the Packhouse Manager and technical team to resolve quality and operational issues.

Working hours

You will work 48 hours per week, working 5 shifts out of 7 on a rota basis. Shift times are between 07.00 and 17.30 and will be confirmed on a rota basis. A degree of flexibility will be required.
