HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Manager - Manufacturing Environment
£45,000 - £50,000 basic + bonus
Exciting new opportunity for this well established electrical manufacturer seeking an for a competent HSE manager that has the knowledge and experience to implement, maintain and improve an EMS (ISO14001), as well as head up the Health and Safety function covering all aspects to ensure the business is not only legally compliant, but going above and beyond to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all to work in, in a componentry manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include overall responsibility for all aspects of the Health and Safety function for the business; overall responsibility for the implementation and continued accreditation of the ISO14001 EMS; align H&S requirements to ISO45001 - ensuring that if the business decided to seek compliance to this standard the business would be near ready for accreditation; conduct system audits in line ISO14001 requirements as defined in the EMS; ensure the H&S is legally compliant; responsible to carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented; head up certification audits relevant to this position; establish and maintain all documents required in line with ISO14001; manage and control the EMS procedures, with all related requirements.
The ideal candidate will have an accredited qualification in Health and Safety environment related to a manufacturing facility - A Bachelor’s degree would be an advantage; NEBOSH certification; knowledge and proven track record of an effective H&S system; knowledge and proven track record of implementing and maintain an EMS in ISO14001; manufacturing industry experience; ability to manage staff both within the companies defined structures (appraisals, KPI’s, etc). You should have a pragmatic approach to problem solving; an energetic team player that sets others up for successes; able to multi-task, make decisions and manage time effectively with the ability to get involved in the detail on the production floor.
