Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the Year 6 National Curriculum, focusing on preparing pupils for their transition to secondary school.

  • Use a variety of assessment tools to track pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning needs.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages independent thinking and a love of learning.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and proven experience of teaching in Key Stage 2.

  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a focused and engaging learning environment.

  • Ability to assess pupil progress, differentiate lessons, and provide support to students preparing for SATs and secondary school.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • A commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to the positive culture of the school.
