Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager/ Commercial Manager - Construction, Fire Safety or M&E - Kent

£62-68k + Bonus + Progression to Director possible + Hybrid (3 days in, etc) or Office based role in Kent/ SE London and London Customers/ Contracts.

TO REVIEW NEC4 and JCT Contracts, Commercial Project reviews, and Protect from Main Contractor onerous terms or penalties

Experience within Subcontractor in M&E, Fire Safety, Fire Protection, etc with proven knowledge of contract negotiation and risk management is needed

ROLE - Quantity Surveyor/Contracts Manager/ Commercial Manager - Fire Safety, M&E or similar Subcontractor experience

  • Based in North Kent, can work from office or Hybrid 2 days if commutable to office 3 days
  • Work with design Estimator and Senior Management to price, quote, review conytracts, protect from onerous terms, help with payments and getting paid for work done
  • visits as needed with clients will be London or South East to meet Main contractors you are getting work from and subcontractors passing work onto as needed.
  • You will be primarily responsible for the review, negotiation, and agreement of all project-related contractual documentation, from main contracts and sub-contracts to scope of works and final accounts. These will include letters of Intent, Warranties and appointments.
  • The role requires strong contractual acumen and negotiation skills to protect the subcontractor from onerous obligations and ensure favourable commercial outcomes with Main Contractors, and ensure payments and/ or resolve disputes.
  • You can support the procurement and design process, by reviewing terms, and flow of work from main contractor.

REQUIREMENTS - for Contracts Manager/ Commercial Manager - Construction, M&E or Fire Subcontractor

  • Strong experience of construction law and experience with contract reviewing construction contracts - JCT & NEC.
  • Experience dealing with Tier 1 & 2 contractors, Completing Final account negotiations and risk management

PREFERABLE EXPERIENCE IF HAVE-

  • Degree or Equivalent Experience in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related (as Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager or Quantity Surveyor) would be great.
  • Knowledge of Building Safety Act and how impacts contract delivery
  • Gateway 2 Submissions or similar
