Parts & Showroom Assistant

  • Location: Dartford, Kent, DA4
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: 12.50 - 13 per hour
  • Hours: 39 hours per week - 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch); Saturdays as per rota (Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours Monday to Friday)

Join my client's team as a Parts & Showroom Assistant, where you will be integral to the operations of our goods inward area and showroom. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a busy retail environment and is passionate about providing excellent customer service.



Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the goods inward area, including handling all parts and showroom related deliveries.
  • Assist with retail sales in the showroom, which includes parts, hardware, clothing, and groundcare machinery sales.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing all queries related to products and services either face-to-face or over the telephone.
  • Support internal workshop technicians with parts identification and manage the distribution of orders.
  • Handle stock transfers to the stores and showroom, unpacking, and processing supplier parcels.
  • Manage customer delivery and collection shelves, and perform stock checking as required.
  • Maintain showroom stock and ensure a presentable appearance of the sales floor.
  • Load and unload internal lorry deliveries and manage the overall stock levels.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of agricultural and horticultural equipment and parts is advantageous.
  • Experience working in a busy retail environment, preferably with showroom experience.
  • Strong communication skills across various platforms including face-to-face, email, and telephone.
  • General computer skills and familiarity with email and internet use.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, with attention to detail especially in handling transactions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Full driving licence and a good general level of health and fitness are essential.
