SEND Learning Support Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team immediately, providing support to a Year 2 student with an EHCP. This role is based in a supportive school environment in Dartford and is essential for assisting the child effectively throughout their daily school activities until the end of the summer term.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide one-to-one support to a Year 2 student with specific educational needs as outlined in their EHCP.
  • Assist in the implementation of educational and behavioural management strategies that cater to the student's needs.
  • Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and other relevant professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the student’s education.
  • Support the student in classroom activities, ensuring they engage effectively and benefit from their educational experience.
  • Monitor and report on the student's progress to teachers and parents, adapting support strategies as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role within a school setting.
  • Must possess a current DBS check on the update service.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to supporting children’s educational journeys.
