An exciting opportunity has become available to join a market-leading business in Darwen as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on the night shift. This role is ideal for a well-rounded engineer with both electrical and mechanical skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What you'll do:
- Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment and site facilities
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and carry out effective fault diagnosis and repairs
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Work with automation and control systems, including basic fault finding and adjustments
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company policies and health & safety regulations
- Accurately document maintenance activities and update the maintenance management system
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering upgrades during quieter night periods
What you bring:
- Recognised multi-skilled engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND)
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset with a willingness to contribute ideas
- Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic
