Position: Mechanical Assembly

Salary: 13 - 14 per hour

Location: Daventry

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Assembler to begin work for a world leading manufacturer based in Daventry.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Mechanical Assembler to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the company's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Efficient and correct to specification Mechanical assembly, hydraulic installation, electrical wiring, and fabrication / fitting operations, linked to the manufacture, service and repair of access platforms.
  2. Competent build inspection of all stages and materials used. Full compliance with ISO 45001 procedures, and total quality focus throughout all direct / indirect stages of manufacturing process to achieve a quality product aligned to the customer's specification / expectations.
  3. Effective and efficient value added organisation and control of all allocated operations. Full flexibility, including being training and training others to enable all manufacturing operations by all to be completed across the company.
  4. Compliance with health and safety standards, flexibility, and development of skills through the complete manufacturing process, and the production / product cells.
  5. Maintaining and developing accurate systems and procedures. Ensuring engineering masters and works orders accurately reflect the approved parts consumed. Identification of low stock / shortages.
  6. Working as a team to achieve customer quality, delivery, cost and innovation requirements. Striving to meet performance requirements for accidents / incidents, internal quality defects, cell productivity / utilisation, overall stock accuracy and WIP (flow line adherence).
  7. Ensuring company procedures are complied with.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Experience in a similar hands on Assembly role;
  • Computer skills to include the use of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
  • A good communicator at all levels within the business as well as with customers is fundamental therefore must have a high standard of spoken and written English.
