Impact Recruitment is working with a specialist engineering company that develops high-performance exhaust systems for automotive and motorsport applications. They are looking for a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join their growing team and support the development of bespoke components including manifolds, catalytic converters, and mufflers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in exciting, hands-on projects in a dynamic and innovative workshop environment. Ideal for someone with a background in metal fabrication, stainless steel welding, or custom builds.

Salary: 33,000 - 38,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
Location: Daventry

Job Duties:

  • Fabricate and weld exhaust components such as manifolds, mufflers, and catalytic housings.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Perform TIG and MIG welding, mainly on stainless steel and occasionally on other materials.
  • Use a range of hand tools and fabrication equipment (presses, rollers, seam welders, etc.).
  • Work on vehicle fitting and testing of prototype systems.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve functionality and fit.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and build quality.

Requirements:

  • Solid experience in fabrication and TIG/MIG welding (ideally with stainless steel).
  • Able to read and work from engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen to learn and develop specialist skills in prototype exhaust systems.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
