DCT Recruitment are currently recruiting for Section Permit Issuer to work with our client based in Deeside.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fulfil health and safety responsibilities of the role as outlined in the Regeneration Health, Safety and Environment policy.
Ensure all issued permits align with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and legal requirements.
Conduct checks to ensure work is only carried out under the approved permit system.
Assist in site inspections and audits to verify compliance with permit conditions.
Ensure all work stoppages due to non-compliance are recorded and reported.
Act as a key point of contact for work teams regarding permit-related safety concerns.
Support emergency response measures related to permit-controlled activities.

IMS Responsibilities.

Compliance and understanding of their responsibilities as laid out in the Company Integrated Management Systems (IMS) including Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality and all associated policies, standards, procedures and documentation.

Permit Issuance & Control

Ensure the Permit to Work (PTW) system is implemented correctly within assigned work areas.
Work closely with the Permit Controller, Temporary Works Supervisors, and Safety Advisors to ensure all permits are correctly issued and monitored.
Verify that necessary Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are in place before issuing work permits.
Ensure all permits are completed accurately, recorded, and returned upon task completion.
Communicate permit conditions and safety requirements to site operatives, ensuring strict adherence.
Escalate any permit violations, safety breaches, or non-compliance issues to the Permit Controller and HSE Lead.

Operational Responsibilities

Work in coordination with the Permit Coordinator, Section Managers, and Subcontractors to support operational efficiency.
Ensure that all permits are properly briefed to site teams before work begins.
Support the Temporary Works Supervisor in ensuring that work requiring permits is executed safely.
Maintain organized and up-to-date permit logs for audit and compliance checks.
Assist in training site personnel on the permit-to-work system and related procedures.

General Responsibilities.

Be familiar with Policies and Procedures in the company IMS and understand their responsibilities within them.
Ad hoc duties as the job requires.


KEY COMPETENCIES & DESIRED SKILLS

Strong understanding of Permit to Work (PTW) systems, including confined spaces, hot works, electrical isolation, and excavation.
Knowledge of CDM regulations and construction safety requirements.
Excellent attention to detail in reviewing permit documentation.
Strong communication skills to liaise with multiple departments and ensure permit compliance.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.
Familiarity with risk assessment processes and hazard control measures.
Proficient in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
