Proactive Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business for a QA Technician to join their Quality team.

12 hour Days and Nights 

06:00 - 18:00 / 18:00 - 06:00

The Role
As a QA Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving product safety, legality, and quality across the site. You will be responsible for completing daily quality tasks, monitoring production activities, and supervising shifts from a quality perspective.

Working closely with the Quality Manager, you will support quality systems, continuous improvement initiatives, and preparation for external audits. You will collaborate with all departments to ensure products and processes consistently meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

During periods of absence, you will provide cover for the Quality Manager, taking on leadership responsibilities to ensure the smooth continuation of quality operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake checks and manage supplier non-conformances

  • Carry out internal GMP, QMS, and Glass and Hard Plastic audits

  • Perform internal calibration checks

  • Facilitate product and environmental sampling and testing

  • Update, review, and train staff on Product Information Sheets, Quality Attribute Sheets, and QMS policies and procedures

  • Perform process control verifications (e.g. changeovers, taste panels, product quality checks)

  • Document and investigate internal non-conformances, customer complaints, product holds, and concessions

  • Train and coach operators to maintain quality standards

  • Maintain document control, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures

About You

  • Previous experience in a QA or Quality role within food manufacturing

  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, GMP, and QMS

  • Confident communicating across departments and on the production floor

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills

  • Able to step into a leadership role when required
