We represent a long-established North Wales based manufacturing business, who design and manufacture an impressive range of premium quality, safety critical products.

They seek to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer, with a particular skill set in mechanical assembly and multicomponent assembled product, to assist in the optimisation of production processes and efficiency improvements.

Working closely with R&D and quality departments, the manufacturing engineer will be involved in design for manufacture and assembly activities for new product introduction, as well as considering new layouts for existing processes. Theyll also consider improvement options through jigs and fixturing, and the implementation of Lean to optimise efficiency and reduce waste.

Key skills

  • Apprentice trained or HNC/HND/degree educated Engineer
  • Experience in a similar manufacturing engineer, production engineer or process engineerrole in a mechanically biased assembly setting
  • Strong background in line balancing, process mapping and process flow
  • DFM/DFA methodology for new product introduction and engineering change
  • AutoCAD/Solidworks proficiency preferred
  • Good knowledge of problem-solving tools such as 8D, FMEA and Lean/Six Sigma tools
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes is desirable
  • Adept at communicating and influencing cross functionally
