Job Title: Interim FP&A Accountant

Location: Hybrid (3 days in Derby area)

Day Rate: £250 - £350 per day inside IR35(depending on experience)

Duration: c.3 months

Gleeson are delighted to, once again, be supporting a rapidly growing client of ours in the Derby area on an exclusive basis with a second, urgent interim requirement for a Interim FP&A Accountant.

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Interim FP&A Accountant to join our finance team during a crucial period of reporting and strategic planning. Acting as a key link between finance leadership and external stakeholders, you will ensure that accurate, timely, and insightful financial information is delivered to support both compliance requirements and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim FP&A Accountant:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Board, banks, and other key stakeholders.
  • Produce quarterly covenant calculations and certificates, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the FP&A Manager in building and refining the 3-Year Plan and annual Budget models in Excel.
  • Assist with cost-benefit analyses for major projects, capturing opex and capex costs and forecasts with clear, evidenced assumptions.
  • Review detailed monthly performance analysis alongside the FP&A Manager and Senior Finance Manager to support forecasting.
  • Prepare and submit monthly ATOL and APC returns to the Civil Aviation Authority.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly ABTA returns.
  • Produce monthly financial returns for private equity investors.
  • Complete ad-hoc reporting for the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Experience, Qualifications & Skills

  • ACA / ACCA /CIMA Qualified accountant ideal but not essential.
  • Proven experience of financial reporting in a fast paced consumer-facing (B2C) business.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis techniques.
  • Self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, and resilience to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and willing to "roll sleeves up" to address a range of issues.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with both financial and non-financial audiences.
