Sheet Metal Supervisor
- Hours: MondayThursday 7:00 am 4:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am 12:00 pm
- Salary: £42,500 per annum
Were looking for a hands-on leader to oversee a busy sheet metal production area within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is all about driving safety, quality, and efficiency while motivating a skilled team to deliver exceptional results. Youll take ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring targets are met, processes run smoothly, and continuous improvement is embedded across the team.
Key Responsibilities for this Sheet Metal Supervisor role:
- Champion health and safety standards and ensure compliance at all times
- Lead and develop a multi-skilled team to achieve production goals and KPIs
- Plan and prioritise workloads to meet customer and business requirements
- Monitor quality standards and ensure all components meet specification
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure team competency
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S practices
- Review production methods and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost control
- Manage staffing levels and adjust resources to meet changing demands
- Investigate non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate production documentation and system updates
- Oversee attendance, performance, and absence management for direct reports
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing or engineering environment (aerospace or automotive preferred)
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and machining processes
- Knowledge of quality management systems and working to tight tolerances
- IT skills at intermediate level
- Recognised supervisory qualification desirable
- Flexible approach with ability to work additional hours when required
