Our Client is a well-established bespoke joinery business, specialising in high-quality fire doors, timber fire screens, bespoke joinery, and more. Serve sectors including health, commercial, education, residential, leisure, and defence.
We are looking for a skilled Joiner to join their production team and will be working on bespoke joinery and fire door / door set production. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good craftsmanship, and an ability to work with both softwood and hardwood, and possibly on fire-rated doors and screens.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, fit, and finish bespoke joinery items (doors, screens, etc.) to high standards
- Read & interpret technical drawings, specifications, and fire-door certification requirements
- Work with both hardwoods and softwoods, laminates, veneers
- Joinery assembly, machining, sanding, finishing
- Inspect finished components for quality, tolerances, and compliance with certification specs
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
- Use woodworking machinery and tools safely
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Joiner / Carpenter in a workshop or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of joinery techniques, wood properties, and finishing
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand joinery specifications
- Good level of craftsmanship and attention to precision & detail
- Teamwork mindset, reliability, and commitment to quality
Desirable:
- Experience working with fire-rated doors or screens
- Experience using CNC machinery, panel saws, specialized joinery equipment
- Awareness of or willingness to learn fire-door standards & certifications (e.g. Certifire, BM TRADA etc.)
- Knowledge of different finishing techniques
Pay & Hours
- Pay Rate: up to £20 / hour
- Shift Pattern:Â Monday-Friday 7:30-16:00
