Key Responsibilities:
- Perform joinery repairs, renovations, and maintenance tasks across residential properties, schools, and public buildings, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Undertake new joinery installations, including first and second fix joinery work (e.g., fitting doors, skirting boards, window frames, staircases, partitions).
- Interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications to accurately complete assigned tasks.
- Use initiative to resolve minor on-site technical issues, and consult with supervisors or management when necessary.
- Manage and maintain stock levels within the assigned vehicle, ensuring necessary materials and tools are available to maximize efficiency.
- Work within a scheduled appointment system, including direct interaction with tenants, property occupants, or school staff, maintaining a professional and courteous approach.
Essential Criteria:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent trade qualification)
- Proven experience in both 1st and 2nd fix joinery work
- Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Good organisational skills, including managing tools and materials effectively
- Valid UK driving licence (if role includes mobile working)
- Familiarity with health and safety standards and safe working practices
- Previous experience working in a public sector or housing maintenance environment
- Valid CSCS card
- Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, or Manual Handling certification
- Experience using mobile work management systems or job scheduling tools
