Due to continued success and growth, they are now seeking an ambitious and experienced Associate Civil Engineer to join their Derby office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated senior-level engineer to play a key leadership role in a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering consultancy, with proven experience in both technical delivery and project management, as well as a clear track record of supporting work-winning and leading teams.

Associate Civil Engineer Job Overview
  • Leading the delivery of civil engineering schemes across residential, commercial, mixed-use and infrastructure projects
  • Managing both the technical output and financial performance of projects
  • Overseeing a team of engineers and technicians, including resource planning, mentoring and line management
  • Preparing drainage strategies, FRA reports, highway design packages and infrastructure specifications
  • Collaborating with clients, architects, local authorities, and other consultants to drive project success
  • Supporting directors with work-winning and business development initiatives
  • Playing an active role in internal leadership meetings and strategic planning for the civil engineering team
Associate Civil Engineer Job Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Chartered (or working towards Chartered) with ICE or equivalent
  • Strong design experience in drainage (SuDS, foul and surface water), highways and external works
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage (or Causeway Flow), and Civil 3D
  • Proven track record in managing technical and commercial aspects of projects
  • Demonstrable experience in team leadership and mentoring junior staff
  • Comfortable contributing to fee proposals, bids, and client presentations
