Our client, operating in the water sector, is currently seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their team in Derby on a temporary basis.
Role Overview:
Our client is looking for Civil Design Engineers to support the delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects. The role is based in Derby, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed civil designs for water and wastewater treatment works
- Contribute to project planning, feasibility, and optioneering
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams (MEICA, process, structural)
- Ensure designs comply with regulatory and client standards
- Support site teams during construction with technical queries and design updates
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and third parties as required
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in the water sector, preferably on treatment works
- Strong understanding of civil design in clean water and/or wastewater infrastructure
- Proficiency with design software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or similar)
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to operate under an Inside IR35 contract
Desirable:
- Experience working with UK WASCs (e.g., Severn Trent, Anglian, Thames Water)
- Chartered or working toward chartership (ICE or equivalent)
