CNC Programmer/Operator - 3-Month Contract

Contract Type: Fixed-Term (3 Months)

Reports To: Production Team Lead

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Programmer/Operator to join our workshop team on a 3-month contract basis. This role will be instrumental in the programming, setting, and operation of CNC machinery, while also supporting various teams across the business.

This is a hands-on role with a mix of independent and team-based responsibilities, and occasional customer interaction at our Derby site.

Key Responsibilities:

Program, set, and operate a range of CNC machines and lathes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity.

Use Siemens control systems; experience with Heidenhain and/or oneCNC is advantageous.

Operate manual milling, turning, and drilling machines as required.

Interpret engineering drawings to develop accurate CNC programs.

Collaborate with the Production Team Lead and Engineering to support efficient workflows and production planning.

Support refurbishment and service teams with inspections, maintenance, and repair activities.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and best practices within the machining function.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings and machining principles.

Familiarity with Siemens control systems; Heidenhain and/or oneCNC experience desirable.

Capable of estimating manufacturing times and supporting the quotation process.

Positive team player with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and mentoring.

Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to support across departments when required.
