Job Title: Foreman - Industrial Piping ManufacturingLocation: DerbyJob Type: Full-Time | PermanentSalary: Up to £20 per hour (depending on experience)About the Role:Gi Pro is currently seeking an experienced and driven Foreman to lead manufacturing operations for our client. The company specialise in piping systems. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong background in pipe fabrication, welding, and shop floor supervision.You'll play a critical part in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:* Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production staff involved in pipe manufacturing.* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide production.* Allocate tasks, monitor workflow, and drive on-time completion of production schedules.* Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.* Conduct quality inspections and ensure finished products meet required specifications.* Train, mentor, and support the development of production team members.* Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and logistics departments to resolve production challenges.* Maintain accurate records of output, materials, and labour.* Identify and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
What We're Looking For:* At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or foreman role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.* Strong knowledge of industrial piping materials (e.g. carbon steel, stainless steel), welding processes, and fabrication standards.* Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings.* Solid understanding of workshop tools, machinery, and health & safety protocols.* Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.* A relevant technical qualification or trade certification in welding or pipefitting is preferred.Desirable Experience & Qualifications:* Experience using ERP or production management software.* Training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.* Valid forklift or overhead crane certification.Working Environment:* Based in a busy workshop/factory setting with exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery.* Some overtime and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.
