As the School Cook Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school kitchen, ensuring the provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary needs of the students. Your expertise in cooking and your strong management skills will allow you to create a positive dining experience for the students while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

The Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a school or institutional catering setting
  • Minimum of an NVQ in Cookery/Hospitality is preferred
  • Coordinate menu planning, taking into account nutritional guidelines, dietary requirements, and budget constraints
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, and the ability to implement and maintain strict standards
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring the availability of fresh and quality ingredients
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, financial transactions, and staff schedules
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • To perform duties as directed by the Area Manager
