This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced finance team in a key role focused on credit control and income collection. Working closely with Accounts Receivable, Commercial Finance, and Operational teams, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring timely payment collection, resolution of payment issues, and support for process improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Manage overdue accounts by following up on outstanding payments and applying appropriate collection strategies.Liaise with internal teams including Housing Income and Care Services to resolve billing queries.Collaborate with Local Authorities to encourage timely payments.Issue statements in line with service level agreements and organisational standards.Assist in preparing documentation for third-party legal action when payment recovery efforts are unsuccessful.Support the timely collection and posting of Direct Debits and assist with daily cash allocations.Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.Monitor and respond to the credit control inbox, ensuring timely resolution of queries to avoid escalation.Provide ad hoc support to finance and wider teams as required, including audit requests and financial reporting.Systems, Controls & Governance:Adhere to financial control procedures and policies.Maintain and improve documentation for transactional processes.Identify and suggest opportunities for improvement within the credit control function to strengthen controls and increase efficiency.Support change initiatives and act as a proactive participant in process improvement projects.Personal Development:Maintain ongoing professional development aligned with changing business needs.Engage in training and learning activities to enhance skills and performance.Person Specification:Qualifications & Education:GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (Essential)Experience:Credit control experience in a busy finance environment (Essential)Previous experience in the charity or social housing sector (Desirable)Skills & Competencies:Strong communication skills, with a professional approach to handling internal and external queries.Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Confident, proactive, and results-driven.Adaptable and enthusiastic with a focus on continuous improvement.Values & Attitudes:Committed to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice.Positive attitude toward health, safety, and wellbeing.To discuss further details, please call Claire at Amber Mace on (phone number removed) to discuss further or email your cv to (url removed)
