Are you passionate about making a difference for young people with behavioural needs? We are seeking a Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join a supportive alternative provision all through school. In this rewarding role, you'll help pupils build resilience, develop positive learning habits, and gain the confidence to succeed inside and outside the classroom.

As a school, we have high expectations. We work with through all Key Stages for pupils from diverse backgrounds with a broad range of needs, helping them re-engage with education and, for some, prepare for reintegration into mainstream school. We aim for every pupil to reach their full potential, both academically and socially/emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor and track progress.
  • Create a calm, structured learning environment that supports engagement.
  • Promote social and emotional development through positive role-modelling.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with behavioural or SEMH needs.
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach to challenges.
  • Energy and physical fitness to engage with active learners throughout the day.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine commitment to helping young people reach their full potential.
