St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Chief Finance Officer. The Trust comprises 20 primary schools and 5 secondary schools serving diverse communities across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Derby City, Staffordshire, and Stockport.

As Chief Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and operational strategy of the Trust, ensuring long-term sustainability and the effective stewardship of resources. You will provide strategic leadership across finance, risk, estates, and compliance functions, working closely with the CEO, Executive Team, and Trust Board to support the Trust's schools in delivering the very best outcomes for every child. This is a high-impact role, and the Trust seeks a values-driven and collaborative leader who brings both financial expertise and a deep commitment to its mission. While experience in the education sector is essential, it is your ability to lead with integrity, build strong partnerships, and make sound strategic decisions that will be key to your success.

A professional qualification in finance or accounting is essential (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA) together with

  • a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience within a finance function
  • experience of managing large and complex budgets
  • a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks
  • experience of developing and operating financial systems and procedures, including audit compliance controls.
