Are you confident, organised, and looking to inspire young people in a classroom setting? We're seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to join a mainstream secondary school in the DE73 area. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a rewarding role, supporting students and ensuring learning continues when teachers are absent.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise prepared lessons, maintaining focus and progress in the absence of the class teacher.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy, promoting positive learning.
- Communicate lesson content, homework, and expectations clearly to students.
- Collect and return student work and provide feedback on behaviour and progress.
- Support departments with administrative tasks when not covering lessons.
- Assist with exam invigilation, educational visits, and supply staff orientation.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum GCSEs (Maths & English) grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent.
- Experience with secondary-aged pupils (11-16) desirable.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and ability to build positive relationships.
- Willingness to undertake further training (First Aid, HLTA standards desirable).
