Store person / Goods inwards Inspector

Do you have a background working within a goods inwards / stores environment within an Engineering/Manufacturing environment? (Machining/Fabrication/Assembly)

Would you be competent at making sure that goods coming in to the business (Components and Materials) meet the quality, specification, and compliance standards before being accepted into stock or released to manufacturing?

Do you have basic measuring skills, using measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers to check incoming parts?

The basics:

Job Title: Store person / Goods inwards Inspector

Location: Derby

Position: Permanent

Basic salary: up to 35000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday starting at 7am or 8am and finishing at 4pm/5pm. Fridays early finish at 12:00.

Contracted hours per week: 39hrs

Holidays and Benefits: Death in Service Benefit - 2 x annual salary, Pension 5% and 3% by employer, Holidays are 5.6 weeks of annual leave per year inc. bank holidays, increasing to 6.6 weeks inc. bank holidays following 1 year of continuous service.

Overview:

We now require a Goods inwards Inspector to join the Stores and goods in department.

The Goods inwards Inspector is responsible for the inspection, verification, and documentation of all incoming materials, components, and parts to ensure they meet quality, specification, and compliance standards before being accepted into stock or released to manufacturing. This role is critical in maintaining product quality, supplier compliance, and production efficiency.

Working in a modern purpose-built manufacturing facility for a high-end precision engineering business.

The ideal candidate / Goods inwards Inspector may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • Previous experience working in stores/goods in focused role within an engineering/manufacturing environment - assembly of metal components
  • Competent at measuring with handheld measuring devices such as cailpers and tape measures.
