We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their multifunctional team. In this role, you will provide targeted additional tuition to Year 9 learners, helping them strengthen their foundational core subject skills and preparing them for future GCSE study.

About the Role:

  • In this role, you will provide targeted additional tuition to Year 9 learners, helping them strengthen their foundational core subject skills and preparing them for future GCSE study.
  • Lead small group or 1:1 interventions focused on communication, sensory integration, emotional regulation, and academic support
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to adapt learning materials and strategies
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to behaviour plans and EHCP targets
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment, rooted in empathy and consistency

About You:

  • Experience working in a special school or supporting children with SEN across early years, primary, or secondary phases
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HLTA status, or willingness to work towards)
  • Knowledge of autism, SEMH, and/or complex learning needs, with training in relevant strategies, highly desirable
  • Flexible, resilient, and calm under pressure, with a child-centred approach
  • A strong team player with excellent communication and initiative
