The Role:
We are looking for a passionate Secondary Teaching Assistant to provide in-class support and help students access the curriculum. In this Temp to Perm role, you will play a key part in promoting positive behaviour, academic progress, and student wellbeing in a secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff with lesson delivery across a range of subjects.

  • Provide targeted support to individuals or small groups, including those with SEN or EAL.

  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom setup.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to meet student needs.

  • Supervise students during non-teaching times, such as break and lunch.

Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational or youth setting.

  • Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

    • Adaptable, proactive, and committed to supporting student development.

  • DBS Check:

    • All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one registered to the update service. The cost of a DBS may be passed to the applicant.
