IT Field Engineer - Openreach/Ethernet - Contract - Derby (on-site)

Full on-site working arrangements required - 5 days per week in Derby

IT Field Engineer required for a leading client based in Derby. IT Field Engineer required to come on board with experience around network infrastructure. Hands on experience with installation of network infrastructure such as cabling is essential, as well as Openreach knowledge and expertise.

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Strong experience in structured cabling installation, termination and testing, as well as general network infrastructure management
  • Configuration of local and wide area networks for optimised performance (LAN/WAN)
  • Extensive knowledge around Openreach policies and frameworks, broadband installations, fault resolution and line testing/maintenance
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, firewalls and network topology
  • Strong experience configuring and managing network switches, VLAN and traffic management
  • Experience configuring VoIP, PSTN, as well as mobile network configurations
  • Ability to effectively analyse, identify and resolve connectivity issues
  • Experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting of network infrastructure issues such as congestion and QoS solutions
  • Understanding of cabinet installations and structured wiring standards
