Pektron Group Ltd have a vacancy for a multi-skilled Preventative Maintenance Engineer to join our team of engineers primarily looking after our state of the art fully automated SMT lines and production equipment.

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work within our multi-disciplinary Engineering Maintenance department primarily responsible for the performance and maintenance of our fast-paced SMT operations. They will have the opportunity to be innovative and work within a dynamic and energetic team, striving to ensure the efficient running of SMT operations and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor SMT line performance and implement improvements and corrective actions to ensure maximum quality and output.
  • Drive the respective Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities
  • Lead technical investigations regarding product quality and equipment issues
  • Root cause analysis and countermeasures
  • Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Produce SMT placement programs for new products and maintain existing ones to achieve best quality, line balance and program optimisation.
  • Support the NPI process, being the custodian for all SMT processes and feedback issues and suggestions for improvement to the Design Engineers.
  • Support new equipment installation
  • Maintenance of Production equipment using a computerised system for reactive, predictive, and planned work.

Essential criteria

  • Qualified to minimum ONC level, ideally HNC level in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatic Engineering experience with a proven track record
  • Analytical thinker with creative and flexible approach to problem-solving
  • Experience of automation in a production environment

Desirable criteria

  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Word would be beneficial
  • Previous experience with SMT Software, particularly for Yamaha/Hitachi, DEK and BTU would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
  • Understanding / experience with Automated Optical and Solder Paste Inspection (AOI &SPI) Software, particularly for Koh Young would be advantageous but not essential as training will also be provided
  • Good aptitude for complex and technical operations
  • An understanding of the SMT process, equipment, and technology

Whats on offer:

Salary up to circa 40K, yearly pay review, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, free parking, free tea and coffee, Cycle to work scheme, BUPA healthcare, life Insurance.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday 7.55am to 4.25pm Monday to Thursday / 7.55am to 3.25pm Friday. Occasional weekend or out of hours working may be required.

Location:

We are based in Derby (DE21 4AP), easily commutable from the Derby area, Nottingham, Mansfield, Burton, Loughborough, Ashbourne and the Peak District and East Staffordshire.
