Year 6 Class Teacher (Full-Time)

Class Mate is seeking an experienced and passionate Year 6 Teacher to join a warm, supportive primary school in the DE21 area. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a small Year 6 class and play a key role in preparing pupils for their SATs in a nurturing, well-resourced environment.
The Role
You will take full responsibility for a small Year 6 class, delivering high-quality teaching and learning with a strong focus on progress, confidence-building, and SATs preparation. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team and benefit from excellent support within a friendly and collaborative school community.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver well-planned, engaging lessons aligned with the KS2 National Curriculum

Prepare pupils for end-of-year SATs through targeted teaching and intervention

Assess learning effectively and adapt planning to meet pupil needs

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Work collaboratively with support staff, colleagues, and parents

Contribute to the wider life of the school
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

Strong KS2 and Year 6/SATs experience

Confident classroom practitioner with excellent behaviour management

Ability to inspire, motivate, and support pupils of varying abilities

A commitment to safeguarding and high standards of teaching
