An opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer to join the Engineering team at our East Midlands-based office. Hybrid working arrangements may be considered for this role.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead and will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering design services. The objective is to minimize risks and maximize project profitability across both turnkey and engineering services.
Key responsibilities include:
Co-ordination and production of process design documents and drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant health & safety requirements, specifications, and standards.
Managing the technical aspects of project delivery along with specific departmental management functions and initiatives.
Producing economical process designs that meet specifications and can be constructed and commissioned efficiently.
Evaluating the impact of design outputs on design time, material costs, erection costs, and interactions with other disciplines.
Assisting the Regional Discipline Lead in writing, updating, and monitoring procedures to enhance departmental efficiency.
Collaborating with internal and external teams to optimise project benefits through coordinated design efforts.
Supporting management in promoting a culture of customer satisfaction, recognizing that 'customers' may include both external clients and internal departments.
Ensuring all designs fully consider and incorporate health and safety requirements.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Demonstrated experience in developing process designs.
Ability to rationalize and deliver cost-effective process designs.
Background in multidisciplinary process plant projects.
Experience in process design within a design-and-build environment.
Desirable:
Strong knowledge of either water or wastewater process design.
Chartered status with a relevant professional institution.
Experience in creating mass balance calculations.
Experience in developing hydraulic calculations (gravity or pressure-based).
