Contract Opportunity: Process / Systems Engineer (Nuclear Sector)
Location: Derby (Hybrid Potential)
IR35: Inside
Hours: Zero-hour contract
Clearance: SC required

We're seeking an experienced Process / Systems Engineer to support major UK nuclear programmes, including work on submarine systems, existing nuclear generation assets, decommissioning projects and high-integrity structures. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who excels in delivering robust, safety-critical solutions and enjoys being involved from concept through to project completion.



What You'll Do

  • Deliver systems and process engineering support across nuclear-related projects.

  • Work on the development of P&IDs, equipment schedules, vessel/component sizing, and operating philosophies.

  • Contribute to the creation of high-level control system logic.

  • Support experimental rig development (desirable).

  • Produce high-quality technical documentation including calculations, design reports and requirements.

  • Ensure designs meet relevant design codes and nuclear-sector standards.

  • Liaise with supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary engineering teams.



What You Bring

  • Degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with strong systems experience), or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience within the nuclear sector (essential).

  • Familiarity with P&ID development, component sizing, and process engineering methodologies.

  • Experience with Flowmaster software (desirable).

  • Strong background in delivering technical engineering projects.

  • Understanding of design codes and safety-critical industry standards.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience in supply chain management beneficial.
