Amber Mace is proud to be recruiting for a Registered Manager to oversee a 1-bed children’s residential home in Mickleover. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a single service shaping a nurturing, high-quality home where children can feel safe, supported, and inspired to achieve their potential.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the full operational and care management of the home. You will:

  • Lead and motivate a dedicated care team to deliver outstanding, trauma-informed care.
  • Develop and implement individualised care and support plans that meet each young person’s emotional, social, educational, and therapeutic needs.
  • Create a warm, consistent environment where young people feel valued, listened to, and empowered.
  • Ensure the service meets and exceeds Ofsted regulations and National Minimum Standards.
  • Take full responsibility for safeguarding, compliance, and quality assurance across the home.
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring both quality and financial sustainability.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, induction, training, and supervision, building a confident and compassionate team.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, professionals, and external agencies to deliver holistic care.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role within the last 5 years.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to begin within 6 months).
  • Strong understanding of childcare legislation, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • A compassionate, resilient, and child-focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence.
