A leading engineering consultancy is seeking skilled FPGA Design Engineers to support high-integrity UK infrastructure and security programmes. These are long-term contract opportunities contributing to complex, safety-critical systems.
We are looking for engineers with a solid understanding of FPGA design and verification processes, ideally with experience delivering solutions from concept through to implementation and test. You'll join a collaborative team working closely with end clients on national-level engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and verify FPGA solutions using VHDL.

Translate system-level requirements into robust, scalable FPGA architectures.

Perform synthesis, place and route, and timing closure to meet design constraints.

Develop testbenches, scripts, and supporting software to streamline the design lifecycle.

Debug and resolve technical issues in demanding environments.

Capture and refine technical requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Essential Skills & Experience:

In-depth knowledge of FPGA design principles and hardware development.

Proficiency in VHDL and associated simulation and synthesis tools.

Experience developing and testing complex digital architectures.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and liaise directly with clients.
Desirable:

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).

Scripting experience in TCL or Python for tool automation.
Additional Information:Due to the sensitive nature of the work, successful candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Pre-employment screening will be required.
