Technical Author
4 month contract
Hybrid available expected 3 days on site with flexibility
45,000 pa gross salary equivalent = 23.31hr paye or 30.31hr umbrella
37 hrs per week
Monday to Friday (half day Friday)

Working on Rail Vehicle refurbishment contract producing FMIs and associated documents- refurbishment includes such as seating and flooring, paint, underframe equipment and similar.

The role
To produce and control technical documentation
Responsibilities
Liaising with relevant train operating companies and vehicle owners, engineers, maintenance development engineers, train care staff and parts department to gather information/data required for technical documents.
Authoring technical documents.
Editing technical documents.
Maintaining relevant IT systems
Issuing technical documents.

Desirable Experience / Education/ knowledge
Good communication skills, general technical knowledge, good IT skills.
HNC or above or relevant experience
Train maintenance or build desirable or similar engineering / manufacturing environments eg Automotive or Aerospace.
Experience of using FrameMaker, Ms Word and Excel.
Experience of using Photoshop or similar graphics program for manipulating images.
