Job Brief: This an excellent opportunity for a Care Assistant to provide dementia & end of life care for the residents of a purpose-built, mid-sized care home in Dereham.

A purpose-built, homely care home which is mid-sized and spread over two floors

Caring for patients requiring dementia, palliative, nursing, residential & elderly care.

Some duties are; supporting care assistants, personal care for residents, supporting residents to be as independent as possible,

You must hold an NVQ Level 2 in healthcare or working towards this

Hours are full-time or part-time (48 - 24 hours per week)

Short, 7-hour shifts are available or longer 13-hour shifts. 7 am - 2:30 pm, 2:30 pm - 9 pm, 9 pm - 7 am or 7 am - 9 pm, weekend work

The Care Home
The Care Home is mid-sized and it gives off a homely and welcoming feel. Provides residential, dementia, end-of-life and nursing care round the clock by a dedicated & compassionate team of qualified nurses and healthcare professionals.
It has been recently acquired by an independent, local care group and they are investing in the care home to improve certain areas where it requires improvement, such as hiring a new home manager who has already started. They are aiming to build a good reputation with the home and the local area, they have a clear care philosophy and as they are a smaller group it gives off a tight-knit and approachable culture.
Experience, personal attributes & Qualifications

Experience as a senior care assistant within a care home setting caring for older people.

Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification or working towards this

You will have a kind and caring approach with a passion for delivering the highest possible standard of care and support for the residents.

Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a participatory manner with residents and relatives to enable them to achieve desired outcomes and goals.

Have an experience and passion for supporting and developing less experienced staff members to ensure the delivery of exceptional care and support.
