We are currently working in partnership with a regional Housing Association based across the South West of England, who are recruiting for an Energy Lead on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately, however they are willing to wait for the right candidate if they have a long notice period. The salary for the role is £56,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the energy sector, as well as membership to relevant bodies including CIBSE or EMA.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading the development and implementation of the HA's strategic and operational approach to energy generation and distribution
  • Ensuring the HA meet their regulatory requirement relating to heat and energy networks
  • Engaging with colleagues at all levels to ensure a culture of energy saving and carbon reduction is promoted
  • Procuring new utilities contracts to achieve value for money through energy brokerage arrangements
  • Leading all activities relating to changes in heat network regulations and managing relationships with DESNZ, Ofgem etc
  • Exploring options for electric car charge ports and installs
  • Acting as the subject matter expert relating to carbon reduction within a housing setting
  • Carrying out carbon foot-printing, with a focus of the HA's supply chain

Experience required:

  • Experience required in the energy sector
  • Experience in contractor procurement
  • An understanding of utilities and related contracts
