Production Operative – A Great and Amazing Opportunity

If you are based in or near Devizes and ready to join a dedicated team, this could be the role for you.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to work at a busy packaging production site, where you will play an important role in creating high-standard products for a variety of clients. The role offers competitive pay, regular overtime, and the potential to extend beyond the initial contract period.

Location: Devizes, Wiltshire

Pay Rate: £14.47 per hour (rising to £14.99 per hour after 12 weeks)

Contract Length: 3 months initially, with potential to extend to 6 months

Start Date: ASAP (within 1–2 weeks)

Overtime Rates:

Weekdays (1.5x): £21.71 per hour

Saturday AM (1.75x): £25.32 per hour

Saturday PM & Sunday (2.0x): £28.94 per hour

Shifts: Rotating pattern of 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, and 22:00–06:00 – applicants must be able to commit to all shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently to manufacture high-quality packaging products.
  • Maximise operational efficiency while minimising downtime.
  • Achieve productivity and performance targets set by management.
  • Consistently meet stringent quality standards for every product produced.
  • Carry out cleaning and maintenance duties as per the planned maintenance schedule.
  • Label, scan, and stack products on pallets, ensuring accurate inventory management.
  • Follow Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and comply with all UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure smooth production flow and timely completion of orders.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations.
  • A strong team player who is self-motivated, reliable, and committed to quality.
  • Physically fit, able to be on your feet for extended periods and undertake manual handling tasks.
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence – desirable but not essential.
