The Opportunity

We're working with a leading manufacturer in the precision engineering sector, currently seeking an experienced and motivated EDM Operator to join their high-performing production team.

This role is ideal for a candidate with a background in precision manufacturing, looking to join a company that offers excellent training, stability, and long-term career progression. The successful applicant will work primarily in the EDM department, with opportunities to support other departments following additional training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC and EDM machinery to produce high-precision products small batch quantities.
  • Perform in-process inspections using CMMs, optical systems, and hand tools, recording accurate measurements and data.
  • Load and edit CNC programs as per work instructions.
  • Maintain documentation including work orders and quality records via ERP systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and report any faults.
  • Adhere to company safety policies, 5S standards, and wear appropriate PPE.

Working hours

Sunday 11pm - 6am, Monday to Thursday 10pm-6am

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience in a precision engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC/EDM machinery, tools, and workshop safety procedures.
  • Methodical, detail-focused, and able to work under pressure.
  • Computer literate with a basic understanding of ERP systems.
  • Flexible, proactive, and a strong communicator.
