SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) - Dibden Purlieu - September 2025 Start

GSL Education are seeking a nurturing and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Complex Learning Difficulties at a warm and inclusive school in Dibden Purlieu starting September 2025.

About the Role:

You will play a vital role in supporting delightful pupils with autism, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence, and thrive within the school environment. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will follow an individualised learning plan and adapt activities to meet the child's needs.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide consistency for the children throughout the school day
  • Supporting children with learning difficulties, including ADHD, SEMH and ASC.
  •  Implement strategies to support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Foster a safe and encouraging learning environment

Requirements forof SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience working with children with autism or other SEN in a school or similar setting
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
