Assistant Financial Accountant

Annual Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience

Reed Accountancy Oxford are delighted to announce that we are partnering with a South Oxfordshire business who are currently looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant, a pivotal role within the Central Accounting & Reporting team. This position involves key reporting tasks such as cash reporting, sales reporting, and divisional submissions. You will be instrumental during the bi-annual budget phase and will report directly to the Group Financial Controller.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Produce the Group weekly sales and sundry invoices.
  • Handle Group cash reporting and the production of annual statutory accounts within set deadlines.
  • Prepare and manage monthly submissions to the French parent company for certain divisions.
  • Produce the monthly Group management pack.
  • Perform trade debtor reconciliations and maintain the group’s locally held company secretarial records and those held at Companies House.
  • Collate data for reports to be submitted to the Office of National Statistics.
  • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) as required and support the budgeting process.
  • Perform month-end processes for commissions, reconciliations, and postings for various group and external parties.
  • Handle royalty postings and reconciliations for specific divisions.
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required by management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Competence in Excel and the ability to understand and explain complex concepts.
  • Proven ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Inquisitive and eager to learn, with a willingness to gain practical knowledge and understanding of issues affecting the business.
  • Experience with Tagetik and SAP is advantageous.
  • Currently studying towards ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualifications.

  • A team player and a self-starter who can independently manage and plan deadlines.
  • Resilient with a can-do attitude.
  • An effective communicator capable of prioritizing and building strong relationships across multiple functions/businesses at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous drive to improve processes and reporting.
