About the Role
As my client continues to expand their operations within the civil engineering sector, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Section Engineer to join their team on a major highways development in Oxfordshire.
This permanent opportunity offers the successful candidate a dynamic and rewarding role within a collaborative project team, where their technical knowledge and site-based experience will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality infrastructure scheme.

Key Responsibilities
The Section Engineer will:
路Manage and mentor Site Engineers.
路Provide technical guidance and support to site teams.
路Monitor and verify setting-out works to ensure compliance.
路Support the Site Agent throughout the construction phase.
路Liaise with the Site Agent, Project Manager, and others to manage and allocate resources.
路Prepare and review work package plans and other project documentation.
路Resolve technical and on-site issues promptly and effectively.
路Monitor contractual progress and reporting requirements.
路Manage and maintain project records and site documentation.
路Facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders.
路Assist with budget preparation and cost tracking.
路Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies where required.
路Ensure timely commercial documentation in coordination with the commercial team.
路Promote and enforce Health and Safety standards on site.
路Participate in site meetings and provide progress updates.
路Complete daily activity briefings and maintain the site diary.
路Support implementation of quality and environmental management plans.
路Ensure works are carried out in accordance with specifications and drawings.
路Work in accordance with the company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
路Promote a proactive safety culture across the site team.

Person Specification
Technical Competencies - Essential
路Demonstrated experience in a similar engineering role.
路Strong communication and coordination skills.
路Technical competence with a solid understanding of civil works.
路Basic knowledge of NEC contract principles.
路HNC or higher qualification in Civil Engineering.
Desirable
路Experience working on highway infrastructure projects.
路Background in managing a site or section of a larger scheme.
路Strong planning and organisational skills.
路CPCS Appointed Person (Lifting) qualification.
路Temporary Works Coordinator training.
路Proficient in AutoCAD.

Health & Safety - Essential
路In-depth understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
路SMSTS certification.
路First Aid at Work qualification.
