This is an outstanding opportunity for a Controls & Electrical Design Engineer to join a high-growth, high-tech engineering team. Youll play a key role in delivering advanced automation systems across a broad range of industries, working on everything from compact retrofit solutions to fully integrated bespoke machinery.
The position offers end-to-end responsibility from control panel design and PLC/HMI development to commissioning and supporting global installations. You'll be based at a state-of-the-art R&D and manufacturing facility near Oxford, with occasional international travel.
Key Requirements for Controls & Electrical Design Engineer:
- 3+ years experience in PLC/HMI programming (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens)
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and control panel design
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, EtherNet/IP, OPC, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of control gear, safety systems, and EU electrical standards
- Ability to produce schematics, terminal layouts, and wiring diagrams
- Willingness to support site installations and commissioning (UK and overseas)
- Background in machine control systems or special purpose machinery
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
