Teaching Assistant Job in Didcot

Simply Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils in an all-through school (Primary and Secondary) in Didcot. This is a supply Teaching Assistant role with a clear temporary-to-permanent pathway after one full year, subject to performance and school requirements.

This Teaching Assistant position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in education or progress into a long-term or permanent Teaching Assistant role. No previous Teaching Assistant experience is required, as training and ongoing support will be provided.

You will work with pupils across a range of age groups, including students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as SEMH, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and additional learning needs.



Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across primary and secondary year groups

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in the classroom

  • Support students with SEND, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD and behavioural needs

  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and learning activities

  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation

  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams

  • Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment



Teaching Assistant Requirements

  • No prior Teaching Assistant experience required

  • Experience working with children, young people or SEND is desirable but not essential

  • Patient, resilient and compassionate approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine interest in education and child development

  • Willingness to work on supply initially, with the aim of securing a permanent role
